Defending champion from 2018 in Paris Elizabeth Madden was automatically qualified for this year’s Final, and will be back with her title-winning partner Breitling LS. And the eighth-ranked rider in the world – who all the same came out on top of the standings in North American qualifying in the east this past season – will be joined by four of her compatriots who qualified this season in the east and west of the continent: Georgina Bloomberg, Devin Ryan (runner-up last year), Kelli Cruciotti and Eve Jobs. Swiss rider Beat Mändli also made it into the Final through North America as an extra and will make the trip to Scandinavia. [No Canadians or Mexicans have decided to go to Sweden.]

There, they will be facing off against the crème de la crème of international show jumping, including high-flying home side favourite Henrik von Eckermann, third in the French capital in 2018. Von Eckermann is part of the powerhouse Western European contingent at this year’s competition, with the continent always given the most places in the Final.

Other riders from Europe who have confirmed their presence include World No.1 Steve Guerdat of Switzerland and his compatriot Martin Fuchs, Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca, Germany’s Daniel Deusser (winner of the qualifying season in Europe), Ludger Beerbaum and Christian Ahlmann, France’s Kevin Staut and Olivier Robert, Spain’s Eduardo Alvarez Aznar, Belgium’s Gudrun Patteet, Olivier Philippaerts, François Mathy Jr., Pieter Devos and Niels Bruynseels, Austria’s Max Kühner, and Von Eckermann’s fellow Swedes Irma Karlsson and Peder Fredricson.

Other riders are coming from Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Poland, Estonia, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The full list is below. For more information, see here. (Source below: FEI)
