Deslauriers cleared in doping case after groom's urine in stable blamed

Canadian rider Mario Deslauriers has been cleared of all blame for the positive doping test for O-Desmethylvenlafaxine by his mount Bardolina 2 at the Longines FEI Nations Cup Jumping Final in Barcelona last fall, reports Pippa Cuckson on Horse Canada: "His groom is on this anti-depressant medication and admitted to urinating in the stable – claiming it was too far to walk to the bathroom," Cuckson explains.

For more details on the case involving the groom and the inadvertant positive result, see Pippa Cuckson's article here. The FEI Tribunal Decision is available here.
