Located in the self-proclaimed 'Horse Capital of the World', Ocala, Florida, the opening of the 4,000 acre centre site – claimed to be 'the largest equestrian complex in the United States'– is scheduled to take place in January, 2021, with local realtors hoping for increased demand for properties in the area.

The owners plan to incorporate 17 multipurpose outdoor arenas and four climate-controlled indoor arenas into the site alongside hotels and other facilities. The project is affiliated with an existing equestrian site in Ohio, which rents accommodations to those coming there.

Reaction to the video online included the following comments:

  • - “This will be to Ocala, what Disney World was to Orlando.”
  • - “Get ready for more traffic Ocala.”
  • - “Oh my gosh I'm so excited! Long time but worth the wait!”
  • - “Why?”
  •
  • As a side note, the 'Horse Capital' title has been the subject of debate and discussion in the United States, with Lexington, Kentucky also having claimed the mantle. But the man who obtained the trademark for Ocala says in fact that, “four regions in the world have a large concentration of horses in a small area: Newmarket, England; Chantilly, France; Lexington; and Ocala…. [and that there is a] "uniqueness" to those areas in terms of horse population.” Below: video of the WEC site by World Equestrian Center in Ocala.
