Each year, the best young European riders compete at the European Championships. And this July, the future stars of equestrian sports will gather in Fontainebleau for the LONGINES FEI EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS for Children, Juniors and Young Riders. At the amazing Grand Parquet venue, 54 medals will be handed out to elite young athletes from across the continent.

The competition at Fontainebleau will make history as the first European Championships to bring together the three Olympic disciplines at the same event. Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage riders will battle for their respective titles side-by-side on the courses of the Grand Parquet, Petit Parquet and Spring Garden. The cross-country course will cross the “Salamandre”, the forest of Fontainebleau, the village and finish in the Grand Parquet arena.

As a comparison, last year the European Dressage Championships took place in Roseendaal (The Netherlands), the European Jumping Championships in Samorin (Slovakia) and the European Eventing Championships in Millstreet (Ireland).

At this year’s competition, the Show Jumping classes will start on Monday, July 9, the Dressage classes on Tuesday, July 10 and the Eventing classes on Wednesday, July 11. The cross-country phase for Eventing will take place on Saturday, July 14. During the eight days of competition, 620 riders and an equal number of horses from more than 30 nations will be welcomed on-site in France.
