Chad and her 10-year-old grey mare Carona came out on top of a field of 34 pairs, placing first in the jump-off with 0 penalties and a time of 40.07 seconds. The win earned her €8,118 and will be a big boost for the young athlete, who in recent times has trained alongside her sister Bretton with compatriot Eric Lamaze.

World No.8 Lamaze will be riding today in the big Grand Prix with Fine Lady 5, taking on the other top horses and riders in the world, including the U.S.’s Kent Farrington (Creedance), Laura Kraut (Deauville S), and Lauren Hough (Ohlala). See the full entries list here. And for an insight into what the Chad siblings have learned from Lamaze, NF Style has a list here.

Grand Prix will have more on the 5* Grand Prix later today, the first part of the Indoor Grand Slam of Show Jumping which will continue in Hong Kong and New York City in 2018.
