It’s almost here! The first online broodmare auction organized by the Westphalian Studbook starts this Friday, November 17, featuring 13 superb broodmares in foal to well-known as well as upcoming sires. And interested buyers can comfortably and conveniently take part in the auction by simply going online, selecting a mare and making a bid.

All auction candidates will be online with a video and photo the day the online auction starts. For a preview glimpse, see the trailer video below. The broodmare auction will run from November 17-21, 2017, and operates with a clear, secure and user-friendly system overseen by English-speaking staff ready to answer any questions or provide additional information. The current broodmare collection includes eight Dressage mares as well as five Show Jumping mares with exquisite pedigrees and references. Among them are participants of the elite mare show as well as mares with internationally successful offspring. As auction organizers point out, three candidates are in foal to last year’s reserve winning stallion Zoom. Others are in foal to the well-known sires I’m Special de Muze, Karajan, Emilio, Cellestial, Dreamline, Caroly, Diamond Hit, Plot Blue, Franziskus and Champagner.

For more than 100 years the Westphalian Studbook e.V. in Münster-Handorf, Germany has managed one of the most successful horse breeds in professional sport. A traditional, strict and responsive breeding selection process is carried out every year and adapts to the context of global equestrian sports and the needs of riders, breeders and horse enthusiasts.

Famous stallions of the breed such as Pilot, Florestan I, Cornet Obolensky, Rubenstein I, and Furst Piccolo are synonymous with international competition and breeding success, with superstar Damon Hill helping the German Dressage Team win the Gold Medal for Germany at the 2013 European Championships. See the auction trailer with the beautiful mares below the break.
