A French armada in Bordeaux
Six Frenchmen in the first six places, the International Jumping of Bordeaux could not have started better for the team in blue!
A result that the national coach, Thierry Pomel, is quite happy about: "We would love it it to be like this all the time! When my riders dominate a class in this way, it is obviously a good start of the show, but what makes me even happier is the way they did it; the horses jumped really well this afternoon."
And among all those horses that jumped well, it was that of Marc Dilasser, the 13 year old Dutch Cliffton Belesbat who was the fastest: "It is always good to win the first class of a 5 * competition. Cliffton was feeling good; I started the course telling myself that I was going to see how he would behave. I did not take any strides out in the lines, however I managed to do very quick turns. He has a lot of experience now. He had a very good round without having to force anything, I am very proud of him.” Benoit Cernin (Vackanda de Lojou) and last year's Land Rover Grand Prix winner Félicie Bertrand (Vahine de Favi) completed this 100% French podium just in front of Olympic champions Roger-Yves Bost and Philippe Rozier, Olivier Perreau completing this French armada on sixth place.
