Watch!-The Six Million Dollar Mare.

Marsha, the mare who this year won the Gp 1 Nunthorpe Stakes and last year took the Gp 1 Prix de l'Abbaye in France  has set the highest ever price at a European auction, this evening at the Tattersalls December Sale in Newmarket, England.  The price was 6 million Guineas (a Guinea is worth £1.05 and is a tradition at Tattersalls) which on a world wide scale  does not quite match the $9million paid for Ascot winner Tepin in the USA recently but is still way over estimate. Trainer Sir Mark Prescott who is based within walking distance of the sales ring said he was dreaming about "maybe four million" for the Acclamation sired are that he has trained for owners Elite Racing, who also bred her. Sir Mark said the filly had "everything,  looks, temperament and speed."  The bidding war features another Newmarket trainer, John Gosden and MV Magnier of the Coolmore dynasty with Magnier signing the cheque in the end.
